and Mrs. Susie Lane, Brunswick; two brothers, Roy Westberry, Melrose

Friday at 3 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, conducted by
the Rev. Braswell Carter and Rev. Willie Barwick. Burial was in

marriage of Miss Alene Westberry to Mr. J. T. Lane, both of Gardi.
The wedding ceremony was performed by Judge Gordon Bishop at his
office on Saturday, January 4, 1941. The bride is the charming
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Westberry of Gardi and is very
prominent among the younger social set of her community. Mr. Lane
is the son of the late J. H. Lane and Mrs. Maud Lane of Gardi
and is connected with the Highway Department of this county. After
a short wedding trip, the young couple will be at their home near
Gardi.

MRS. WESTBERRY
JESUP--Mrs. Ernie Ray Westberry, 66, mother of Mrs. Linda Strickland
of Waycross, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup
after a long illness.
Funeral is today at 4 p.m. at Little Creek Baptist Church. Burial
will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Rinehart
and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup.
She is also survived by her husband, Verdon Westberry, Jesup;
a son, John Silva, Twin City; two sisters, Mrs. Ione Carter and
Mrs. Claudine Crosby, both of Jesup; four grandchildren and nieces
and nephews.
Ernie is buried at Little Creek beside her first husband, John
Silva. Her stone reads "Ernie H. Silva Westberry", July
11, 1917-July 10, 1984.
