Going through the census information of his father, comparing
the dates and the differences in the years of his parents, Knighten
was the Rabon listed in the 1860 census. He was known to go by
the name of 'Rabon'.
Notes for SARAH JANE TYRE:
This information comes from a gggrandaughter of Sarah Jane Tyre
Sinclair and the 1880 Wayne Co census.
Nighton was married to Sarah Jane Tyre on Apr 10, 1874.

Generation No. 2
2. MIRIAM ELLEN WESTBERRY (RABON KNIGHTEN3, RABUN2, MOSES1)
was born August 1874 in Georgia, and died in Georgia. She married
RICHARD WASHINGTON BUNKLEY. He was born June 1866 in Camden Co,
Georgia, and died December 02, 1943 in Glynn Co, Georgia.
Notes for MIRIAM ELLEN WESTBERRY:
There is considerable doubt as to the parentage of Miriam. Some
say the father was Rabun Westberry, son of Moses Sr. Some say
it was Asa Coleman, the mothers first husband.
Some, including myself, think she was an illigitimate daughter
of Nighten Westberry (his name was Rabon Knighten Westberry),
and her mother, Caroline Strickland Coleman.
There does seem to be a big coverup of the parentage by the descendants.
She is listed as Ellen Westberry on her daughters death certificate.
My best guess of her death is about 1908, possibly childbirth
related, unless they divorced.

died January 31, 1944 in Toombs Co, Georgia. He married MARY JANE

Sept 7, 2000. I was told by the wife of Asa's son Rabon, that
Asa was a half-brother of his siblings. She also said that Asa's
mother was named Sarah Screws.
(A personal visit to Rabon and Ethel in late 2002 confirmed the
above.)
This family did not know of Moses Westberry or of Rabun, CSA.
Asa is listed in the Georgia death index as Acy, age 63, died
January 31, 1944 in Toombs Co, Georgia, but these two census records
show a different age. His grave marker shows December 25, 1880.
Asa could not have been born in 1880 as his mother Sarah, sister
to Delilah "Lila" , was born in 1870, as shown in the
1870-1880 census of Tattnall Co, Georgia.
(That above can be wrong, but I tend to believe the census reports.
However, this family is full of surprises.)

Melvin Thomas Davis/Finney
Dear Little Brother!
He was born to Jesse Lee Davis and Martha Sarah Westberry in Georgia.
Our parents divorced and Melvin was adopted. He became a Finney.
Melvin was a stranger to me. I never met him. He had many demons
that tortured him from day one. He went to prison for wrong doing.
On October 10, 1996 he committed suicide while in prison. He hanged
himself.
He married Dena Beeler and divorced. He had no children.
He had a tragic life to me. I can only guess at the pain he went
through.
In my family we all inherited chemical embalances of the brain.
Melvin I never met you! I never knew you! But you will always
be my Baby Brother!
May the Father give you the love you never got while here on earth.
I will always love you.
Good Rest to you Little Brother.
